Television host Richard Hammond will open our doors on 20th November 2023! The County Classics Motor Museum is ready to unveil its doors within the refurbished County Stores premises in the town centre, marking the culmination of years of meticulous planning and development.
The driving force behind this venture is local entrepreneur Patrick Hawkins, an avid car enthusiast who has dedicated his life savings to transforming the County Stores into a captivating car museum. The museum’s spotlight will be on reasonably priced and easily accessible cars and motorcycles, with a primary focus on vehicles from the 1960s to the 1990s.
At 11 am on Monday, November 20th 2023, Richard Hammond, the presenter of Grand Tour and a passionate motoring enthusiast, is scheduled to open the museum in the presence of local dignitaries and owners of classic vehicles. The opening ceremony is anticipated to be recorded and could potentially feature in an upcoming episode of Richard Hammond’s Workshop.
A day after the opening by Richard Hammond, on Tuesday, November 21st 2023, the museum will welcome the public. Referred to as a “Tardis-like building,” the County Classics Motor Museum will showcase 100 cars, over 80 motorcycles, and an airplane from Pat’s personal collection or on loan from local enthusiasts. Additionally, the museum will offer amenities such as a café and a small shop.
We look forward to seeing you!
